It is a crystal clear morning just after sunrise, but chilly -- I'm recording an overnight low of 40.6F (4.8C).
If there were any showers last night, they must have been incredibly light, because my rain gauge shows no evidence of any rainfall. The weak upper-level disturbance responsible for the clouds yesterday and overnight is now east of here, and clearing has been rapid and decisive during the past few hours. That means we should be seeing plenty of sunshine today with temperatures very close to normal or just slightly above for late January. Still no signs of any noteworthy storm systems for the next week, at least.
The quiet weather is actually good news for the throngs of cricket fans, media, and VIPs -- not to mention the India and England teams and support staff -- who will begin arriving this afternoon in Dharamsala in anticipation of the match on Sunday.
