gray and damp... (am.12.jan.13)>

*Update @ 10:20am...  A very healthy rain shower in progress, with the lowest temp of the past 24 hours -- 45.5F (7.5C).  This mild air mass is still keeping the snow line very far up the mountain, where it should stay.  Satellite pics show a very fast, progressive flow, so showers should continue, on and off.

*Update @ 9:25am... My rain gauge shows 0.08" (2mm) thanks to our early morning showers.  I see a little white on the trees way up toward Triund, but it has remained too warm for the snow to make it any further downhill.  Currently, 48.2F (9.0C) with 75% humidity.

------------------------------------------------------
The first rain since the 16th of December began falling at my location on Tushita Road below the Mountaineering Center at about 7:40am.  It is quite light, but it is rain nonetheless.  It was very mild overnight -- the low temp was 48.0F (8.9C) -- and now it is 49.6F (9.8C) with 56% (and rising) humidity.

The weather system responsible for this damp-ish morning continues to fall apart as it makes its way across the western Himalayan region.  Be prepared for some scattered rain showers today, with any snow most likely remaining above generally 2500m/8200ft or so.  At this point, it still appears that precipitation amounts will be light -- less than 1cm (0.40"), but check back here for any breaking weather developments as the day unfolds...
