Other than just a few high, thin cirrus clouds, skies are mostly clear at sunset this evening. Sunshine was firmly in control across the area today, providing balmy conditions if you got a chance to bask in the direct sunlight -- but the winter chill remains in the shade.
Our next potential weather-maker is knocking on the door this evening, in the form of an upper-level disturbance which will drop southeastward into northern Pakistan by early tomorrow (Wed) morning. This system looks very unimpressive right now, and should do no more than bring us some periods of cloudiness and maybe a random light rain shower or two before it moves east of here on Thursday morning. I'll be surprised if we pick up any measurable rainfall at all, but it's at least something to keep an eye on during the next couple of days.
A flat and completely uneventful pattern will take over again by late Thursday, and continue through the weekend into at least the middle of next week. Temperatures are already nudging slightly above normal, and should average out a bit above average for this time of year through the forecast period. Unless there are radical shake-ups, we should end the month of January without another round of significant wintry weather.
