Sunday's stats:
Early morning low temp: 50.0F (10.0C)
Afternoon high temp: 61.0F (16.1C)
Rainfall: none
Today was the third day in a row that we cooled down by just a hair -- but we were still able to surpass 60F, which makes it seven days in a row. The sunshine was firmly in control today, despite the very few wisps of high clouds and a couple of feeble cumulus over the mountains during the afternoon.
Slightly cooler air has been gradually filtering in over the weekend, as expected, but now we will need to brace ourselves for a more dramatic influx of seasonably cold air during the next couple of days or so. The colder air will be accompanied by an increasingly disturbed upper-atmosphere as well, so our recent mild and relatively pleasant conditions are definitely on the way out. One disturbance will approach late tonight and tomorrow (Mon), bringing us an increase in clouds along with a drop in temps.
THEN... more interesting/significant developments are on the horizon for the remainder of the week. It looks like we'll be adding an increasing amount of moisture to the mix, leading to a better chance of some light rain showers by Tuesday, and perhaps a stretch of wet weather from Thursday into the weekend. The next dose of heavy snowfall could be on the way for elevations as low as 8,000ft (2400m)! Interested parties will want to keep a close watch on forecast developments this week...
