Saturday's stats:
Low temp: 62.8F (17.1C)
High temp: 77.3F (25.2C)
Rainfall: trace -- as of 6:00pm (update to follow)
It's dark and ominous-looking at the moment, with a cluster of thundershowers lurking in the area. There have been some mainly light showers during the past half hour or so, along with a few random hail stones and occasional rumbles of thunder. The wind has been gusting a bit as well. We've had a great Saturday otherwise, with lots of sunshine and pleasantly warm temperatures for most of the day -- it's only been during the evening that this convective development has started to affect us.
These are the first signs of things to come during the next few days, as our weather pattern becomes more conducive to some scattered to occasionally widespread shower and thunderstorm activity. We have a weak upper-level circulation over central Pakistan this evening, with some waves of energy expected to pivot southeastward into northern India between tomorrow and Tuesday. At the same time, there is a fairly impressive batch of moisture for this time of year beginning to push our way from the south and southwest. It still looks like our best chances of significant rainfall will occur between late tomorrow (Sun) and Tuesday afternoon -- with at least an inch (2.5cm) appearing to be a good bet for our general area. It won't rain continuously during that period, but there should be at least a few waves of showers and thunder.
Our temperatures will take a serious hit, especially on Monday into Tuesday, leaving us around 8-10F (4-5C) below normal for this time of year. But we should start to pull out of this on Wednesday, with a gradual moderation in temps and a decrease in rain chances for the latter part of the week.
