There are a few patches of mid- and high clouds around the area at sunrise this morning, otherwise it's mostly clear. My low temp here in the upper part of town has been 61.0F (16.1C), and there has been no rainfall since last report. The humidity reading is 35%.
It would be nice to have a day or two when we could absolutely and definitively say that there is no chance of a shower, but that's not the case. Although our atmosphere is a bit more stable than it was earlier in the week, there are still some very minor circulations drifting through aloft, along with some pockets of colder air in the upper levels. With very robust warming at the surface, that could lead to some isolated to widely scattered shower/thunder development, mainly along the mountains, by this afternoon. This goes for both today and tomorrow, though we'll also be able to come up with plenty of sunshine. Our temperatures will be very close to where they should be for this time of year.
A changing pattern will get underway by Sunday, however, and it still looks like that will lead to a period of disturbed and unsettled conditions for at least the first half of next week. Right now it appears that we could see some significant shower and thunderstorm activity between late Sunday and Tuesday, with temperatures cooling off in response. Stay tuned as we keep an eye on how that comes together...
