Wednesday's stats:
Low temp: 60.3F (15.7C)
High temp: 72.0F (22.2C)
Rainfall: 0.01" (less than 1mm)
There's some haze, along with a just a few lingering clouds as sunset approaches this evening, otherwise we're headed for mostly clear skies. For the seventh day in a row, we had our obligatory build-up of clouds and random showers/thunder -- this time it occurred during the early afternoon, with the thunder and brief showers concentrated between about 1:30 and 2:15pm. By 2:30pm, the sunshine had returned, and remained with us for most of the rest of the day. Temperatures were very comfortable today, but are hanging several degrees below normal, unexpectedly.
Very little is changing as far as the nature and character of the upper-level pattern is concerned, while we're starting to see some warming along with a general decrease in the moisture content of the air mass here at the surface. There are some hints that we could see a bit more of a stable situation between tomorrow and Saturday, but I think the risk of some mainly PM shower and thundershower development remains high enough to be concerned about. Still, we should have plenty of early summer sunshine during the coming few days, along with temperatures trying desperately to push back toward 80F.
Looking further ahead, we could be seeing a period of more extended wet and inclement conditions coming our way during the first part of next week. Of course there will be a corresponding drop in temps in association with that, should it indeed materialize. Stay tuned.
