Monday's stats:
Low temp: 59.5F (15.3C)
High temp: 75.0F (23.9C)
Rainfall: 0.06" (1mm)
It's partly cloudy out there just before sunset this evening, with a couple of thunderheads still visible off to our east. Today's shower activity was confined to the mid-afternoon, when we had a brief period of rain between 2:30 and 3:00pm that registered a small measurement in my rain gauge. There was a good amount of thunder for a short time as well. Otherwise the day has featured a mix of clouds and sun, as expected, with temperatures remaining very pleasant for the season.
Only the most subtle changes are occurring throughout different layers of the atmosphere across north India, and that's going to keep us dealing with the same general weather pattern all the way through the end of this week. There are some indications that things could stabilize just a little bit during the mid- to latter parts of the week, but it looks like there will be a pretty good chance of isolated to scattered thundershowers continuing to develop over the mountains during the afternoon hours nonetheless. Of course there have been many more dry hours than wet ones since this most recent period of unsettled conditions set in, just keep an eye to the sky and be prepared for sudden changes if you plan to be out and about.
Our temperatures could hardly be much nicer or more comfortable than they've been recently. It's been pleasantly warm, but still not nearly as hot as it could be (or will be) as we continue to progress through the month of May. Extended range data is showing us remaining in a pattern that will keep the real heat away for at least another week to ten days or more.
