Yesterday's high temp: 66.1F (18.9C)
This morning's low temp: 53.6F (12.0C)
24 hour rainfall: none
It is partly cloudy just before sunrise on this Thursday morning, thanks to some patches of very high, thin cirrus clouds. The current temperature is 55.9F (13.3C) here on Tushita Road below the mountaineering center, and humidity stands at 33%.
We've had two very nice days back-to-back, with the only negative being the considerable build-up of cumulus clouds over the Dhauladhars from the mid-day into the afternoon hours. But really, those clouds haven't affected us very much here in McLeod, allowing us to enjoy an overwhelming majority of sunny hours. There have been a couple of isolated PM thundershowers up-mountain from us as well, but they've remained far away, with the upper-level flow carrying them off to the east.
The overall scenario is still looking good for us for the next couple of days, as a weak west-northwesterly flow remains established across northern India. We are seeing a bit more high cloud development, but it doesn't look like anything as extensive as we had to put up with late last week. As long as the sun can hold on, our temperatures should be near their warmest of the season so far... but again, that's not saying much since we've been consistently 5-7F (3-4C) below normal on even the warmest days.
There is still some kind of an upper-level disturbance expected to drop in from the northwest late Saturday into Monday. We'll see an increase in the risk of some widely scattered showers and thundershowers during that time frame, but at this point, I don't expect anything particularly widespread or heavy. We'll continue to watch...
