Friday's stats:
Low temp: 54.0F (12.2C)
High temp: 62.4F (16.9C)
Rainfall: trace
There are a few lingering clouds around, otherwise it's mostly clear this evening at sunset. Today has been a tough one to follow, as we've seen a couple of dramatic swings between sunshine and clouds, with even a period of sprinkles and very light rain showers for about an hour between 1 and 2pm. That was really irritating and annoying, though it didn't last long and didn't amount to anything measurable in the rain gauge. Although the sun was dominant after about 2:45pm, it was too late in the day to warm us up very much, so temperatures ended up below expectations.
The general area of high pressure aloft which is sitting across northern India has not done a very good job of keeping the clouds away (as anticipated), and has also not provided us yet with the kind of warming we've been waiting for. There is still time to see a good bump in temperatures tomorrow into Sunday, before the next storm system arrives, however. Unfortunately, we can't rely on a full day of sunshine, as waves of mid- and high-level clouds will continue to threaten from time to time. Even if we do get a good warm-up, our temps will still be running a few degrees below normal for early April.
Computer models are in pretty good agreement about increasing rain potential between late Sunday and Tuesday. The bulk of shower and thunderstorm action should occur between Sunday night and late Monday night, but we'll keep watching as the scenario evolves. We are not at all in need of more than an inch of rain, but it does look like we could be dealing with amounts in that ballpark.
CURRENT FORECAST specifics are on the tab above.
