it matters not that there has been no official monsoon declaration yet from the IMD. we had another 1.3" (3.3cm) of rain today, and were completely socked in with fog for a couple of hours during the early afternoon. more rain and thunderstorms may move into the area later this evening and overnight, as a huge surge of tropical moisture from the south interacts with upper-air disturbances dropping in from the north and west. we have a soggy forecast for the next few days... with periods of rain along with rumbles of thunder, combined with periods of near 100% humidity which will contribute to some thick fog at times. we could get 1-2" of rain each and every day through wednesday. there are indications that it could dry out just a bit by the latter part of the week, but we'll have to wait til sometime in mid-september to REALLY dry out. the trade-off is that temperatures will be rather cool from here on out...
